A year after Katrina I was in New Orleans visiting my family. Armed military personnel were still needed and on-duty. One morning I witnessed a horrific traffic accident. Police, ambulances, EMT's and the FD worked the immediate scene. National Guard armed with M-16's worked the accident perimeter. So I guess it's not unprecedented.

Police are employed to deal with crime, not anarchy.

With the National Guard - it doesn't. Of course ours is in Iraq right now, but that's a different issue.

Blackwater - via no-bid contracts - will be able to handle virtually any contingency, as they have many times in the US.

You should be happy that they won't need Blackwater security teams the next time then.

Blackwater, Army, Marines, NG, doesn't matter. Here's an open invitation: If they get up my way, we'll have fresh hot coffee for them. I figure the few DUmmies in this town will be the only ones having to worry.
