Excellent. No one should have a problem with putting a Nativity scene in a public park for a couple weeks each year then. No legislation is required to do so and no one is forced to believe what it represents.

This is all leading up to the war on Christmas bullshit, isn't it?
Well, here in Florida we have Christian/pagan/Jewish iconography on public property in several places in Pinellas alone.

There is a creche in Straub Park, Christmas trees in Vinoy Park, and 25 foot tall Christmas candles on the breakwater at the yacht basin.

A secularist/atheist society and theocracy are not the only two options. They are simply extremes at either end of a spectrum.

To suggest that if we are not one, we must be the other, is either intellectually lazy or dishonest.

As could I, you werent paying attention to the thread. As for secular/athesist/theoracy there are many options; both England and Isreal are constitutional theoracies yet secular...see secularism and atheistism don't have to be lumped together but we are not a constitution theoracy nor are we a nation base on any athiest premises that I know of therefore if not secular then what are we? I'll wait.
