Your right, You don't just have ten Akins, you have ten Romneys and his 47 percenters, ten Paul Ryans, ten Bachmans, ten Palins...etc.
The point being, you cannot come across as a party of white extremists who could give a flip about two thirds of the country and whether you like it or not that is how the republican party is currently perceived. And please, stop blaming others, especially the media, for simply recording and replaying what you speak and how you act!
And yet you yourself prove the effectivness of the media's amplification, with the silly comment of "10 Akins". To you there may have seemed like 10 of him, but that may be because that's all that was ever covered on the sources of information you subscribe to.
But you're correct. Sole blame doesn't rest entirely with the media bias. The far left has run a pretty effective PR campaign over the last few years. They accurately gauged the intelligence of the audience they were out to convince, and their message was absorbed. Republicans were ill-prepared and totally inept at countering the left's propaganda, or packaging and branding a message of their own. While republican candidates were damaging each other in a long, drawn out primary, Obama was already painting a picture with the usual canards: "Party of the rich, racist, take away a woman's rights etc."
But don't discount the mouth pieces in the media too much, why do you think they were all invited to the WH for heartfelt thank yous?
Oh yeah, you are reading straight from the libpuke playbook right now. Well done.
It always cracks me up when douchebags from the Left try to define the Republican party or some era they are stuck in. The unions live in the 1930s and the rest of the Dems are stuck in the 1960s, except that "ask not what your country can do for you" thingy that Democrats have no interest in.
And is it 47% or 2/3rds that the party has alienated?
