I think Rob Johnson's picture captures the essence of it; books rather than pictures or films seem to be preferred by women. Women also favored the "Beauty" trilogy of Anne Rice's, which she wrote under a pseudonym. I tried reading that and was overwhelmed by boredom; I haven't tried 50 Shades of Grey, nor do I expect to.
Men are visual, women are cerebral. You don't hear women having problems with porn much for that reason.

Yes and no. They aren't so much cerebral as they are verbal while men are more visual. Male fantasies tend to be visual and physical, while women's tend to be emotional and verbal. For women, romances are the equivalent of porn, in that they satisfy their fantasies. The average romance involves bridging an emotional divide to a distant, unattainable fantasy male whose deep, troubling secret can only overcome by the love of the heroine, and which he will reciprocate once the chasm is breached, making him into her soulmate. Fifty Shades of Grey is more explicit than Twilight, but both are female porn.
Well when they make a movie out of the book i might watch it.....![]()
