John McAfee says he won’t return to Belize to answer questions about his neighbor’s murder there, again professing his innocence.

“I will not go back to Belize,” he told CNBC’s Squawk Box Friday morning. “I had nothing to do with the murder of Gregory Faull.” McAfee said he would be happy to answer questions in a “neutral country.”

During the bizarre, at times rambling, 12-minute interview, McAfee went on to say that he hasn’t done drugs in 30 years, but if he did, “I have the resources to do good drugs” and not bath salts, which he said were for “people that don’t have a lot of money.”

He also reiterated claims that dozens of armed Belizean police had attacked his property in April, and that subsequent demands for bribes were what prompted him to go into hiding.

It was the latest of several live TV interviews McAfee has done in the past week during the dramatic turn of events that brought him from a Guatemala detention center to the shores of South Beach in Miami.

In various interviews, McAfee has told reporters that he faked chest pains while detained in Guatemala to buy his lawyers time and that he plans to stay in Miami until his girlfriends, 17 and 20, can join him.

Anti-virus software tycoon John McAfee took a romantic stroll with a mystery woman in Miami over the weekend.

Wearing a pinky ring and chatting on the phone, McAfee seemed relaxed, despite the fact he remains wanted for questioning over a death in Belize and faces a $5million lawsuit in Arizona.

The 67-year-old claimed last week that he has no money or a home in the U.S. and that he was going to stay in Florida until his 20-year-old Belizean girlfriend could join him.

There's been a recurring topic of conversation in McAfee's executive meetings over the past month: John McAfee, the company's founder.

John McAfee sold his security business in 1994 and has had nothing to do with the company since. But his name has dominated headlines since Nov. 11, when police in Belize said McAfee was wanted for questioning in a murder investigation.

"We've certainly been discussing it, that's for sure," said Michael DeCesare, co-president of McAfee, which is now a subsidiary of Intel (INTC, Fortune 500). "He's gotten a lot of coverage, and we've been following all of it."

The headlines about John McAfee have only grown stranger over the past month. The Belize resident fled his home, giving a series of press interviews from secret hideouts in which he professed his innocence and offered conspiracy theories about the Belize government. He went to Guatemala, where he requested asylum, then became mysteriously ill when he was arrested by police for entering the country illegally. (He now claims he "faked a heart attack"). He was subsequently deported to Miami last week.

The drama-laden Silicon Valley software pioneer John McAfee might be spending Christmas somewhere in Mother England rather than in Miami, where he was recently extradited to.

The 67-year-old McAfee posted on his blog Monday, “I am safe now, in the country in which I grew up, went to school, got married and had children. It is a country of laws and due process.”

It is hard to tell if this is a legitimate update, since McAfee has been known to mislead the press about his actions and whereabouts.

The Sun newspaper in the UK, reported that McAfee has hopes to gain a fresh start in England with his Belizean girlfriends, Sam Vanegas, 20 and a 17 year old that The Sun identified as Amy Emshwiller.
