County Police Chief Recommends Arming School Personnel
Fitch said the killing will not be stopped by legislation or laws. “If there’s somebody that’s really hellbent on doing something like this, they’re not going to care what the law is.”
he chief is adamant about his plans but realizes his calls for arming school workers will be met with resistance.

One of my good friends has her doctorate in education, ditto her hubby. They both feel that teachers should be armed for protection. When I taught years ago, I felt that I needed a gun to just get safely to my car. I know we can't recreate the Wild West, but teachers throwing their bodies between the kids and an armed gunman isn't going to exactly help the teachers.

It's the world we live in. I never thought it would be necessary, but I too agree, that at least one teacher in a school setting should have a gun. If not, an armed detail officer (not in uniform) should be stationed at every school.
Metal detectors are useless for this type of crime, as it's only useful to alert, not stop.

While I applaud hiring the handicapped, teachers without arms are at a tremendous disadvantage. For example, how do they write on the blackboard?

Almost all mass shootings happen in gun free zones. Once again our fools in government make all schools gun free zones. Ever see a mass shooter go to a police station?
We all know the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
My opinion is EVERY teacher should be mandated to carry concealed and train regularly.
When it is common knowledge that all teachers are armed...the mass school shootings stop.

Meh....You propose replacing a disarm mandate with an arm mandate. Both are wrong, I believe. To me, it would be enough to have volunteer teachers armed, but no mandate. After all, there are some people who simply will not carry a gun. I think they should be allowed to do as they see fit.
