I feel that once a black fella has referred to white foks as "honky paleface devil white-trash cracker redneck Caspers," he's abdicated the right to get upset about the "N" word. But that's just me. -- Jim Goad

No politician (any party; any country; any TIME) is/ever WAS "honest" or "moral" or "sincere"...etc..etc...Some are ALL of these things sometimes...but they all have a continuously variable internal compass...Some are more malignant than others...some do less damage and some are pure evil.
But hell, that's just how humans are. Always have been. Always will be. All systems...all governments eventually collapse due to corruption of various kinds. All nations were born in blood and they all die in blood. It's a fact.
Generally and in our system particularly, anyone who thinks "their" guy is "better" than the other guy ...or really any different...has been thoroughly indoctrinated.Last edited by xbow; 12-27-2012 at 02:53 PM.

So, perhaps the problem is that some people need a change of heart? I understand an opinion not changing when one dies. My opinion about most people is that it's bad when they die because if nothing else, their family and friends will miss them. You name the bad guy, and I actually do feel badly for their family once they're dead.

MrScorpio...
Thank you for not having an original thought on the subject. That would have been impressive. As you are just a douche, you've lived up to douche expectations.Be Not Afraid.

DUmmies, I hate to interrupt your hatefest, but the former President has a bad case of bronchitis. He will be alright. It's common to get complications at his age, but he's not going anywhere. Go dance on someone else's grave, Hugo Chavez should be hitting the bucket soon enough.

Leftists have no problem with killing their opponents. It's only when the opponents object to dying that they have a problem. Mass murder is a feature, not a bug, in their program, but so is propagandizing and projection. Thus, George HW Bush, who served his country during the Cold War and WWII, during which he fought the spread of totalitarianism, is a bad guy in their eyes, because they were on the side of the totalitarians. Meanwhile, Che Guevara, a totalitarian mass murderer and sadistic bigot adorns their t-shirts. It's ignorance and hypocrisy.
The issue is objective standards. I did a bit of grave dancing over Teddy Kennedy, not because he was a liberal or a Democrat, but because he let a girl drown and did nothing, because he conspired with the Soviets to undermine two presidents in order to advance his ambitions, and because he was a drunken lout who treated women like disposable kleenex, while being lauded as a champion by feminists. I happen to have profound disagreements with GWH Bush, but his character is beyond reproach. If a Republican had the same history and conduct as Teddy, I'd treat him the same way.
Ah, but they love Chavez. He's doing exactly what they want a dictator to do. They'll mourn and eulogize him to the skies for impoverishing Venezuela and destroying its civic order. When he dies, it will take decades for the country to recover and develop the civil institutions that he swept away by his autocratic rule.--Odysseus

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

How fortunate for this poster that there exists an internet. Without it, he'd be sitting in his underwear on a futon; watching the TV and screaming at republicans so hard that he'd be spewing crumbs from his oreos all over himself. But lucky for him, he found a cesspool that not only tolerates his juvenile outrage and hatred, but agrees with it.
You know, Bush One was pretty much a moderate. He wasn't overly religious, never threatened abortion rights, and fought a war that was quite popular with both political factions. He even raised taxes! The fact that they have to pump up their pseudo outrage and hatred even toward him, speaks a lot to their reasoning ability and calls into question their mental condition. Scarey.
