Hoplophobia is a pejorative[1] neologism originally coined to describe an "irrational aversion to weapons, as opposed to justified apprehension about those who may wield them."[2] It is sometimes used more generally to describe the "fear of weapons"[3][4] or the "highly salient danger of these weapons " [5] or the "fear of armed citizens".[6]

It's become a common term. A hoplite was a Greek infantryman, derived from the term "hoplon", which was the type of shield used, and eventually came to refer to his equipment, including his armor and armaments. In this sense, it's a perfect term for those with an irrational fear of arms or armed citizens.

And I thought it was a fear of rabbits.

I thought it was a fear of Hoes and would make sense considering the OP.
