Last year, we had a lovely multi-course dinner at 'Fat Canary', a beautiful restaurant in Williamsburg, and watched fireworks at midnight with champagne, on Duke of Gloucester Street.
This year we will be having osso bucco and red wine by our own dining room fireplace, and will no doubt be asleep well before midnight.
In between, we've had career and health challenges, and both the immediate and long term prospects for our nation seem very uncertain. But in our house we have faith in God, country, ourselves and each other, and we'll raise our glasses with calm optimism.
A happy and healthy New Year to you all!"Today, [the American voter] chooses his rulers as he buys bootleg whiskey, never knowing precisely what he is getting, only certain that it is not what it pretends to be." - H.L. Mencken

I'm working but will be getting out earlier and then heading over to my parent's house for Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve that I think is now hosted by what's his name.
Once my daughter is 5, I think I will start going out again and celebrating the way you're supposed to...

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

I have two parties to go to. I know which one I want to go to because they have better food. I know which one I have to go to or I get the guilt until March.
I think I'll just stay home. It has been a busy eating and drinking season as it is.
Merry New Year Everyone.Be Not Afraid.

Happy New Year everyone...
The last time my husband and I went ANYWHERE for NYE was the one that flipped 1999 to 2000.
Usually the only thing we see at midnight is the backs of our eyelids.

The first course will be Asian chicken wings, the second course fish fillets and french fries followed by a Tippens cranberry apple pie.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB
