Here comes the tax to the rich. Is this a big Republican compromise or what. I feel like Republican leaders were looking to save face instead of doing what is right.

Yeah. Now the tea party candidates (about 45 - 50 of them I think) will no longer count because the Dems in the house will go along with their Imperial Leader, and many Republicans will go along, too. So the tea party agenda of a smaller government, at least for now, is dead.
Ah, well. We lost that one, Mr and Mrs America. The government gets even more of your money than last year, and grows bigger, too.
Oi. I have a headache.

Skip the Fiscal Cliff, and choose the Fecal Cliff instead? Kinda looks that way......

This is another nail in the Republican coffin, by failing to vote for conservative principles they will lose the support of their conservative base which will lead to losing conservative seats to liberals in 2014.
I would say the Republican house has been very successfully nurtured.A trojan horse hides its intent and Obama hasn’t we hid our understanding.

No wonder the Congress has an approval rating of about 11%. I wonder how they scored that high? I'd think they deserve about a 4% approval rating, if that. We've got a bunch of gutless wonders. Obama's arrogant face really ticks me off. I feel as if the Republican party has been neutered.

I am reading "Team of Rivals" (about Lincoln) and I am learning how the Whig party was split by the issue of slavery, and was split so badly that it never recovered. The Republican party formed in its place.
That story reminds me of how the Republicans have become split by the tea party ideology, and I find myself wondering if we are seeing the end of the Republican party and the beginning of a new, truly conservative party to replace it? If so, it will take many years to implement the new party, and it will be painful as the pendulum first swings the wrong way.
But in the end it will be better.

I still say the GOP should have caved and let Obama have anything he wants. Reason being, anyone with a brain knows that giving the Dems what they want will only make things worse. But the positive would be that the finger of blame would fall squarely on the shoulders of the Dems and Obama. There would be no way to hide the blame.Deplorably Proud To Be An American
