Al Gore Pushed for Sale Before Higher Taxes
Interesting tidbit from the New York Times on the sale of Current TV:

"Mr. Gore and his partners were eager to complete the deal by Dec. 31, lest it be subject to higher tax rates that took effect on Jan. 1... But the deal was not signed until Wednesday."

    2. Unrec. Do you try to make the least on your investments?

Do you try not to get the best price? Do you pass up tax deductions you are eligible for on principal?

There is some hypocrisy here, but it isn't Al Gore.

Why not try bashing some Republicans sometime?

He is making a good business decision. He's doing exactly what he should for himself and his investors who are all good liberals.

You know what? It's still OK to make a profit and minimize taxes.

    Grow up.

    8. i don't remember Gore being a progressive on taxes

my guess is that he is a centrist like Obama.

And the idea that a very wealthy businessman like Al Gore minimizing his taxes is controversial is dumb imho.

    11. What an unbelievable stupid Op

OK---so you own a business.... you are responsible for investors...

You're telling me that you would make the mistake of losing money by not selling before Dec. 31st?

If you did that, I'd sue your fucking ass for incompetency.

    19. So the fuck what;

I'd do the exact same thing. So would most people. You'd have to be an idiot to wait to pay MORE taxes. And to suggest that there's something wrong with what Gore did is idiotic.

Move along, there's nothing to see here.

Funny how they don't see their own hypocrisy. They were lambasting Mitt for using what was available for anyone--the 15% corporate gains tax, nothing particularly tricky their tax wise.

Also they don't seem to notice the folks buying his no-good station. The middle Eastern nation would pay anything to get a foothold in the American market to spread their propaganda.

    Al Gore is pond scum.

Now replace in your mind the name Al Gore with Mitt Romney and try to imagine the same responses coming from DU. I bet you can't do it
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
