What will happen if the GOP House refuses to raise the debt limit because the president won’t negotiate spending cuts? Is this just a gigantic game of chicken with the health of the economy depending on the outcome? Or are the two sides seriously going to allow what some are referring to as a “default?”

You won’t want to miss this week’s stellar episode of the RINO Hour of Power, streaming live from 8:00 - 9:00 PM Eastern time. Host Rick Moran and Co-Host Jeff Kropf will look at the politics of the debt limit issue with guest Andrew Malcolm of Investors Business Daily.

In addition to the debt limit, there is the question of more than a trillion dollars in spending cuts that will automatically take place in early March, as well as a bill authorizing continued funding of government operations. Will the GOP blow up the economy if they don’t get what they want?

A podcast will be available shortly after the end of the show.

I call bullshit! Let the friggin "default" (which cannot happen, unless the President directs it) happen.

Apparently there is one leader of both parties now. His name is 0bama.

Most likely it's a game of chicken. Unfortunately there aren't enough strict government "cutters" willing to take the political heat. They won't allow a default and the beat goes on. Some believe we are already beyond the point of now return anyway.

Given the current circumstances, I am a tentative member of that group. I believe we are in for a very long - 25 year? - dry spell where our GDP will not move. That is similar to the situation in Japan.

It may not ever move again, but I can think of a few scenarios where it would. All of the corrective scenarios I can see have to do with technological advances in the field of energy or energy use.

But I believe if the U.S. GDP does not improve, neither will the rest of the world; they ain't gonna do any better than us.

All of Americas wounds are self inflicted and our leaders can decide to quit pouring salt in them any time they chose, until America realizes we have elected the enemy we will continue to decline.

No default will as I say happen. Hell, we shut the govt down every damn weekend, sat and sun. EVERY WEEK. Its all shut down except for essential services. Is it the end of the world? Hell no! Does anybody even notice?

Reagan shut it down a couple of times too.

But until we get a GOP with spine we are flat out screwed. And we just put the coward of DC back in as Speaker.
