I don't believe that all is lost. I don't believe this because things are cyclical. It's like a see saw, libs are in power for a while the conservatives are. That just the way of things. When people with your attitude throw in the towel then the othe rside will remain in power longer than they should.
Sometimes compromise is the best option and right now that is true. Don't raise the debit ceiling and checks get cut of to Social Security and other welfare recipients then you might as well just hand the House over to the lib. A war is never won in a single battle. Draw out the fighting and make the libs look bad at each one and before you know it national opinions have changed. The current gun control proposals are a good start. Show the people how ineffective they actually are and that all this is, is a lib attempt at an end around the 2nd Amendment.
Back to my original point. You and I both pointed out to the Ronbots that they're inability to compromise their principles for the greater good caused us to have 4 more years of Obama. I believe that your inability to compromise some conservative principles will lead to another 8 years of democratic control after Obama. You are doing exactly the same thing that they did that made you upset with them.
Besides, since you feel that we've already lost, what does it hurt to compromise a little when the prize is so great?Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

This money you suggest we should comprimise on is not our money, it's not the governments money.This is money stolen from our children and their children's children. This is morally reprehensible!
You have no write to comprimise over the redistribution of stolen money, what will you agree to be a party with next.Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

I have not issues with rising the debt ceiling a little at a time while forcing the libs to do a little bit of compromising themselves. Did you read the Krauthammer article? Now the house needs to approve a few spending cuts that they send to the senate on things that most every agrees needs to be cut. The lib controled Senate either passes the bill or they will appear to be not very serious about cutting the debt. 82% of the people belief spending cuts are necessary. Show them who is really responsible for all the spending.
Pass a couple of small tax cuts that would have some impact on workers. If the cuts don't make it pass the Senate the case can be made that the libs don't want Americans to take home more money.
As for the beliefs that I would be willing to compromise, I would first need to see what the potential gain is from making the compromise. Small or no gains then no compromise. I would be very stupid to compile a list of principles I would compromise without knowing how that compromise would ultimately benefit me.Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Here is a fact. The debt ceiling will be raised one way or another. I find it best to recognize this fact, embrace it and control the narrative. To not raise the debt ceiling is to seriouly harm the U.S. credit rating, to deny the military and the retirees their pay checks, and to give the liberals the ability to lay all the blame at the feet of the republicans.
If you are so concerned with the money stolen from our children then you should be looking for ways to get back control of the purse strings and not abandoning them to the libs for the next 8 to 12 years.Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

My goal was to prevent a communist from being reelected
We could not afford to lose, now my fight is to stop him in his tracks and create every obstruction possible to prevent him from making this a communist /socialist country. My goals have not changed, I have no desire to sleep with the winner.Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
