The couple and a young child were on a free trip to the Musee d'Orsay with a charity that supports hard-up families.
As the group browsed a room with paintings by Van Gogh, security guards told them they had to leave the building because people were "complaining about their smell".
The worker with the Act for Dignity charity said: "I argued with the security man, telling him the family were all decent and properly dressed.
"Not a single other person had complained about us so I refute the idea that it was their smell.
"We moved on to another room, but we were again met by four museum guards who ordered us out of the building."
How would one group of French know that another group stunk? The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

Maybe the ones asked to leave were the only clean ones........It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

Not for one minute do I think all the French people smell.
I do think I know what the reason for them being asked to leave was, if it was anything like what I experienced years ago in Toronto.
Was on my way to downtown, riding on the GO train (fast rail public transit) and I sat down next to a man somewhat shabbily (sp?) dressed, but presentable looking.
I immediately, gagged big-time, as it took my breath away ... literally, and I had to move.
Another passenger saw this and told me that the man was most likely homeless, and the *overwhelming* stench was from not bathing.
I too, would have said something to this family for the sake of the other people in the museum ... but in the nicest way possible.

There is no justice.
This fine French family was not allowed to tour a museum, and Yasser Arafat gets the Nobel Peace Prize. Oh, convince me he didn't smell bad.

Do not ever say that the desire to "do good" by force is a good motive. Neither power-lust nor stupidity are good motives. (Are you listening Barry)?
