#1 Patty Andrews of the Andrews Sisters dies at 94...02-01-2013, 11:48 AM
Patty was the last of the Andrews Sisters.
They were patriotic, clean, beautiful, God-fearing and amazingly talented.
They were from a different time. When Hollywood loved the country and the military, when socialism was scorned, when God was in schools and condoms were at drug stores.
Four boxes keep us free: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.

I remember my mom listening to them in the late 40s. Especially "The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." I even remember some of the words.

94 is a good, long life. RIP.
I was a kid in the 70s, but The Andrews Sisters were even then an act that girls would imitate when playing dress-up at grandma's house.

I've loved them since I was a kid. They did a cameo in some movie that I liked. While you were hanging yourself , on someone else's words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

I just found thIs. I absolutely love the Andrew Sisters. Rest in peace, sweet lady."The efforts of the government alone will never be enough. In the end the people must choose and the people must help themselves" ~ JFK; from his famous inauguration speech (What Democrats sounded like before today's neo-Liberals hijacked that party)
