No, it isn't. While we can choke down almost anything, nobody prefers MREs to a regular breakfast. Cutting back DFAC hours and variety of choices increases a yearlong deployment's suck factor exponentially. It's doubly miserable coming from a Commander in Chief who treats himself to Kobe beef at our expense.

Your eating once or twice at the above places means absolutely nothing when compairing it to how much a hot meal means to troopers deployed at a firebase or post in the middle of nowhere for an extended period of time. Again you show just what an idiot you are when it comes to the lives of servicemembers and should just shut the fuck up on the subject...and on anything about the military as well.
The military is outsourcing food service, which, of course, has made it more expensive. If food and water had been kept in house, there'd be no need slash breakfast. I'll bet that contractor was charging a fucking fortune for stuff that could be made in house for pennies.
It's the most important meal of the day. If I skip breakfast, no one dies. I can't imagine sending out armed military without good substance. WTF is going on in this country!?!?!?!?
This is true. The elimination of cooks at all levels saved money in peacetime, but became expensive during wartime. It was a classic case of saving pennies and then shelling out dollars.
They aren't skipping breakfast so much as being given a cold MRE for breakfast. No skin off of Obama's nose, since and his pals don't dine in those circles.
