It doesn't. The reasoning behind limiting magazine capacity and banning weapons was never valid, and this has nothing to do with it. This is about selective coverage. If a leftist goes on a violent spree, his motives will not be discussed in the media, but if a tenuous, tortured connection can be made between a shooter and a conservative, the media will breathlessly talk it up, even after it has been debunked.
