Mercantilism really is a word, although you have to be somewhat of a history student to know the word. It was a theory used around the time the U.S. was formed. I remember reading about it in "Patriot's History..." but the details are fuzzy. I distinctly remember their theory of limited wealth, though.

Actually Mercantilism goes back further than that. Goes back centuries. It's the cornerstone of imperialism. Spain practiced a very simplistic form, France more advanced, and England the most advanced of the three major colonial powers. The theory is obviously a crock of shit regardless of how advanced it is.

Oh, and Mercantlism=/= Capitalism. They're actually at odds with each other. Also the United States was never a fully capitalist nation, we were closest in the 19th Century though.

Also I'm not from Hell, I've merely taken up residence in it. I'm from Northwest Indiana.

Hyphenate, because you do need to capitalize America.
