    I know, but if we hadn't pacified Japan in the first place, the entire Pacific rim would have looked like Nanking. As far as I am concerned, we don't have to justify our existence by pointing out the kindness of our humanitarian operations. We've saved the world from horrific tyrannies more times than that DUmmy can count. If she can't take pride in that, then selling us as a heavily-armed Peace Corps is futile.
