Did you read the list of charges he was found guilty of? There is no way he walks away without doing at least 5 years, probably more. The prosecution had a very solid case, even if the media was skeptical about whether he would be found guilty or not.

Kwame has been very uncooperative with his MDOC parole officer on the terms from his perjury conviction, so I am not surprised at all that he was taken into custody.

The Kilpatricks have no friends in the current administration. In 2008, they supported Hillary. Shortly after that came Kwame's downfall and resignation. No way Obama was going to go anywhere near that mess.

The passage of Proposal 10-2 will result in a revision of the state Constitution that will bar individuals from running for an elected position or entering a public position if they have committed a certain crime in the last 20 years. According to the proposal, individuals are ineligible if they have been “convicted of a felony involving dishonesty, deceit, fraud, or a breach of the public trust … and the conviction was related to the person’s official capacity.”

I don't think he's going to run for re-election in Detroit. He might run for office somewhere else, but not here. He already moved his wife and kids to Texas, and I don't think he has really good political prospects there.

That depends on where in Texas. Sheila Jackson Lee keeps getting reelected from Houston, which clearly has a high incidence of low information voters, or as we called them at FT Hood, morons.
