    Trigger warning.

Someone asked me today, “What is ‘rape culture’ anyway? I’m tired of hearing about it.”

Yeah, I hear ya. I’m tired of talking about it. But I’m going to keep talking about it because people like you keep asking that question.

    ...

Rape culture is when you’re tired of hearing about “rape culture” because it makes you uncomfortable, as your attempt to silence discourse on the subject means we never raise enough awareness to combat it –and that’s part of why it sticks around.

So yeah, I’m sorry you’re tired of hearing about it. But I wouldn’t expect us to shut up anytime soon. Nor should we.

Apparently any disagreement with Redqueen promotes "rape culture".

On edit: I read the underlying article and I say this to Lauren Nelson and the Red Queens of the world....."You wanted a secular society free from guilt and shame. You ran God the hell out of the school systems and you got down with the gangs in a bang. You embraced self debasing "Slut Walks" and similar madness. Idiots like Sandra Fluke demand free contraceptives for guilt free gratification and are praised as visionaries. Young men ( sperm donors is more accurate because a real man does not treat a woman so shabbily) now consider women vaginas with attached life support systems and have as much random sex as they can and brag about it. Anyone that beleives in monogamy is thought a fool. Everybody's an instant porn star with a cell phone. Sex tapes make you a famous "reality star" and everbody loves it. Leftist professors in a few decades have ridiculed all that was ever morally good about our society as "prudish, out of touch, quaint, old fashioned, irrelevant", etc so much that people with "old fashioned values" such as remaining faithfull to one's spouse remain silent for fear of ridicule. And now progressives consider children just as disposable as a used condom. So now that we're all reaping the benefits of our brave new world, NOW you want to bitch about it?" Fuck off!

Rape culture-DUmbasses. I doubt they even understand what they are saying. If they decry "rape culture" yet embrace the Black Panthers, they are stupid beyond belief.

That is what we have been saying.

BTW, when liberals use the term "rape culture," does that mean that it refers to cultural standards which encourage rape or other violent sexual conduct? Or does it exempt Bill Clinton's accusations of rape (and his pardon of child rapist and Democratic congressman Mel Reynolds), Teddy Kennedy's "waitress sandwich" with Chris Dodd (or Teddy's defense of his nephew in his rape trial) or Bob Menendez using trafficked underage hookers? Just asking...

I seriously suspect that there are quite a few people, some of whom would be found on DU, who ever accepted that the rape accusations against the Duke lacrosse team were false. Like the people who said "children don't lie" they believe in essence that no woman would lie about such a thing.

I seriously suspect that many of those people see Steubanville as proof that the lacross players were actually guilty.

Now the really strange thing is that many of the same people who appear to think that every man is a rapist, also think that every black man convicted of rape is probably innocent.

Maybe there are just a lot of fucked up but functional people in this world (eferrari).

Nova: what amuses me about this is , if they wished to look at a "rape culture" all they need do is look at India.

But then again, that's a "racist" attitude. They cannot and never will learn.

DUmmies are akin to the children who met the Pigman, who taught them that we make our own cages. Only that lesson, is one they will never understand. Or accept.

Yes, that is pretty much exactly method the redqueen, seabeyond, and the other feminazis on DU use to think and argue. They are impervious to logic. Much like the 'For or against Right to Life, there is no middle ground' thread, you can either meekly agree agree with them (Though cheers with pom-poms are preferred) or be wrong.

They are the modern inheritors of the legacy of French revolutionary 'Committees of Public Safety,' waiting only for an opportunity to bring forth their nature in full gruesome flower.

That mindset is a pretty predictable result of these same people being told (and accepting) that "all sex is rape."
Olde-style, states' rights conservative. Ask if this concept confuses you.
