FALLS CHURCH, Va. Three people, including the suspect, were killed in a shooting at Marine Base Quantico, a base spokesman said.
It began with a shooting around 11 p.m. Thursday that left one dead, said Lt. Agustin Solivan. That shooting lead to a standoff between authorities and the suspect, who was barricaded in barracks at the base.
Authorities entered the barracks early Friday and found the suspect dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound along with a second victim.
Solivan could not say what prompted authorities to enter the barracks.
No names were immediately released, but Solivan said the suspect and both victims were Marines. Authorities believe the suspect was a staff member at the officer candidate school at the base, Solivan said.
The base was put on lockdown after the shooting, but the lockdown was lifted early Friday.

Expect the vultures in the MSM and the gun grabbers to latch onto this for political purposes before the NOK notifications go out.

Also, notice that after Nidal Hasan's shooting spree, nobody suggested banning guns, because it would have drawn attention to the fact that military posts are, ironically, pretty much gun-free zones, at least in the duty areas. Civilians think that we walk around armed on post, but the truth is that government weapons are locked up tight and personal weapons are strictly regulated, and no concealed carry provisions exist. Suggesting a gun ban simply would have enraged the survivors, who were trained in the use of arms, and then denied the right to carry them on the job.--Odysseus

It's been a rough week for the Marines, that's for sure.
On the morning news, they were not saying anything definite, but were strongly implying that the shootings were the result of a love triangle.
