I think it's hypocritical how those on disability and social security are supposed to cut their spending, but yet billionaire companies should be free to waste as much as they want to. Disgusting concept, actually.

Not saying individuals shouldn't try to cut back, but the hypocrisy is so obvious.

Sniff sniff sniff, can you smell it, the musty dank smell of brown?
The comparisons you are making here are totally unrelated to each other.
Pull your head out and take a deep breath of fresh air.

The difference being that billionaire companies are wasting their own money, not money confiscated from taxpayers and 'redistributed' to themselves...
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.
In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.

I will agree with that when the "billionaire companies" are not getting any form of government subsidy or lobbyist inspired tax breaks.

Mike Illitch got a new stadium for the Tigers and wants one for the Wings. Same thing for these guys all over the country.

Comerica Park opened in 2000 after three years of construction and a total cost of about $300 million. The stadium was subsidized by taxpayers at somewhere between $115 million and $189 million, depending on the source. The Tigers are also supported in many other ways by city taxpayers. Meanwhile, the city has a $200 million budget deficit and an emergency manager running the schools.

    Any form?

If a city/county/state/whatever collects more in taxes from peripheral economic activity generated by a company and it's employees, than they gave up in up front tax collection from the company, I call that a 'wise investment', if the tax break was what induced the company to locate there in the first place...

I'm not either, so long as they can afford it.

Not having a phone is not having a phone. A telephone is still a luxury item, not a necessity, I don't care how much people try to claim that that's the only way any employer will contact them. So is the internet, and so is television. Food, shelter, heat, basic clothing ... these are necessities. Telephone, be it landline or cellular? Not a necessity. Sorry.
