    Dear Jabba...

ENFIELD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) — Lego will cease production of a popular “Star Wars” toy set after Muslim communities complained about the product as the company says the criticism played no part in the decision to do so.

The Independent reports that several Muslim groups in Austria claimed “Jabba’s Palace” was anti-Muslim as it showed popular “Star Wars” character Jabba the Hut in a mosque-like lair with a hookah, guns and an imprisoned Chewbacca.

Hurry up and get one while they are still available-they will be worth a fortune in 20 years on the toy collector's market if Lego stops making them.

I'm glad to hear Lego does not want to offend any Muslims.

You're absolutely right. I think collectibles are starting to regain their value. In the bad old days of Jimmy Carter when the dollar wasn't worth squat and the price of gasoline was through the roof, collectibles were all the rage as a way to hopefully get around inflation. As our treasury is printing more and more money, the dollar is getting worth less.

I've been noticing on ebay that there seems to be a hotter than usual market for old collectibles. I'm kicking myself that I got rid of so many at the lower prices when the economy was good. I guess it's not a good sign for the economy that people are scrambling to acquire things again.

Stock up on those Legos, probably will indeed be valuable.

They can't mess with Star Wars. What the crap?

I'm not sure if they'll really be worth a lot in 20 years. We often say that about stuff, but never hear of them being sold for a high price.
