For most people, getting married means saying sayonara to your sex life.
For Annie and Doug Brown, it meant getting busy. 101 days straight kind of busy.
The pair, who have been married for 11 years, did the deed every day for more than three months to write a book, "Just Do It," which hits the shelves on June 26.
"There's 10 jillion books about the Kama Sutra and there's a lot written by therapists, but there wasn't a book that was like a window into a relationship," Doug Brown told the folks at the "Today Show" on Tuesday.
A feature writer for The Denver Post, Brown's wife actually came up with the idea.
"Immediately after I thought of it I had second thoughts," Annie admitted. "My friends, when I told them about it, their mouths would drop open: 'Are you crazy?'"
She was inspired by a conference her husband attended where he heard about married couples who hadn't had sex for 100 days.
"This man gave a talk about being in the '100 Days Club,'" Annie explained to Ann Curry. It's "a club that you don't want to be in because it means you haven't had sex with your partner for over 100 days... So, I said to Doug after he told me about that story, 'Maybe we should reverse it.' "
Parents of two children - one 7-year-old and one 3-year-old - the working couple had a lot on their plate, and were often exhausted. But both were excited about their sexual undertaking.
Starting in January 2006, they had sex every day and every way. They did it at home and on the road, on top of a mountain and at a sex convention after watching porn.
By the end of the 101 days, they were exhausted, and took a break from sex for a month.
