I am truly shocked ad disturbed that no one here posted up an RIP for George yesterday. I was expecting to put my condolences for his family at the end of a long list.
I've listened to the man for all of his career and will continue to build my collection of his music.
There will never be another like him.
It's not how old you are, it's how you got here.
It's been a long road and not all of it was paved.

He had so many excellent songs that it's tough to for me to choose a favorite, but if I had to it would be Cold Hard Truth.
This man knew what made a great song. What do you call an arrogant bully that can never admit it when he's wrong? Mr. President.

I'm not a huge C/W fan, but my Grandma really loved George Jones. RIP.

I was going to post something but it slipped my mind as I was listening to his songs to honor him. Him dying affected me because it was him, Conway Twitty, and George Straight that got me hooked on Country Music. Possum was a legend, and will be sadly missed. I echo what others have said. There will never be another like him. He was truly one of a kind. Sure he had his demons, but he was a very kind soul who loved life and himself. Rip Possum ... :(
Re-posting it because it is my favorite from him and one that fits...
There is a public viewing for him at the Ryman on Thursday. There is expected to be thousands to show up to honor him. I wish I could be there.
I love my God, my country, my flag, and my troops ....
