    One punch. One ex-governor.

Well, once it gets to court, I'm sure there will be plenty of witnesses who recall that they weren't looking somewhere else after all when it went down, which probably won't turn out too well for Pussy Ventura.

    Why was this even allowed?

Since when can you sue the widow of a dead person for something the dead person did?

My guess, and I'm no Nadin here. Its a suit against he's now estate. And again, no Nadin here, its a defamation of character.

Ventura got his ass handed to him in one punch. Kyle said he was K.O.ed as a result, Ventura has been pissed about that claim being ex-Marine?? Saying he was never K.O.ed. Wanting that Manly image maintained.

Well, as I read the article, it's basically a legal thing. Kyle's wife is executor and recipient of the proceeds of his estate, and as his estate is still earning substantial sums of money because of the books that Kyle wrote, Ventura believes he's been wronged in Kyle's book and is seeking damages.

In other words, he wants to cash in on a dead man's money. Kyle's wife to Ventura is nothing more than a speed bump, and the judge agrees.

DAT mentioned elsewhere, and I agree with him that when the trial hits, all sorts of eyewitnesses are going to appear in court that will say that Ventura was acting like a drunken ass (which he was), was disrespectful to the fallen SEAL and to the family of the SEAL, and completely failed to understand that he was in the company of warriors who didn't give a flying fuck what Ventura did in the past, the only thing that mattered was the here and now.

And got knocked on his ass for his complete and total failure to adhere to a simple modicum of decency and common sense.

Yup... it's an estate sale, as far as that dick head is concerned... But really, what more do you expect from a "pro" wrestler?

Jesse Ventura wins $1.8 million in "American Sniper" defamation case

ST. PAUL, Minnesota -- A jury awarded former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura $1.8 million on Tuesday in his lawsuit against the estate of "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle.

Ventura was awarded $1.3 million for unjust enrichment, and $500,000 in damages for defamation, CBS station WCCO reports.

On the sixth day of deliberations, the federal jury decided that the 2012 best-selling book defamed Ventura in its description of a bar fight in California in 2006. Kyle wrote that he decked a man whom he later identified as Ventura after the man allegedly said the Navy SEALs "deserve to lose a few."

Ventura testified that Kyle fabricated the passage about punching him. Kyle said in testimony videotaped before his death last year that his story was accurate.

Legal experts had said Ventura had to clear a high legal bar to win, since as a public figure he had to prove "actual malice." According to the jury instructions, Ventura had to prove with "clear and convincing evidence" that Kyle either knew or believed what he wrote was untrue, or that he harbored serious doubts about its truth.

Apache was making an offhand remark, not trying to trash estate sales. In Florida an estate sale isn't an estate sale, generally more of a moving sale. Nothing to beat an established poster about.

If you're referring to pro wrestlers, wouldn't get all upset about that one, either. Jessie Ventura was a clown as a governor and probably as a wrestler. Don't watch wrestling, although SR watches on occasion. Let's not throw the DUmmie label around.

Like the majority here, we're disgusted with the outcome of the trial. Ventura is a pig (and not the good kind like the ones Rock likes).

You really should take a look at what some of the Professional Wrestlers are doing for charity and our service members before denigrating them like that.
