This thread is influenced by the boy scouts thread. It appears that even though gays are not allowed to be leaders in the boy scouts and even though a lot of kids don't realize they're gay when they first join, some people are all in favor of kicking kids of all ages out if they're gay. I guess the reason being is that they were originally a religious organization. They're often sponsored by churches.

So, here is my next question about this. If somebody you've known in the church turns out to be gay, should he/she be allowed to keep coming to your church or do they need to go find a liberal church? For those of you who think I'm being unfair because of what a few people said, these are the types of questions that happen when others don't speak up. For those of you who think there are no gays in church, you need to get out more. Poll!

I'm sure straights could still make it fabulous.

It's a serious question. I'd like serious answers.

I'm not a churchgoer, but no, it isn't really a serious question. I makes a bunch of wild assumptions about "The Church" like we were all living before the Reformation, but then talks about some other "Liberal church." If a particular church's doctrine condemns homos, and the homos in it have no intention whatsoever of forsaking their kinks, then yes, they should get out of it and find something that has a moral bar they can actually get over instead of staying there and telling everyone how the doctrine must be wrong because it doesn't take their particular perversion into account and bless it as 'Normal.'

Should murderers that insist on continuing to murder be allowed in church or adulterers be allowed to openly proposition married people be allowed in church.

The murderer obviously has to be taken off of the streets for the protection of others. I'm all for their attending services in prison or once they've served their time.

An adulterer who is propositioning somebody in church should be dealt with. Suppose this is a gay person who isn't propositioning anybody for sex and obviously aren't murdering anybody. Can they stay or do we need to be lead back to the path of self-righteousness?

What church forced gays to leave?

While I wait for your answer you should know that in the Catholic Church a single gay woman can participate in all the sacraments that a single straight woman can. The RCC does not exclude you from Church, Mass or the Sacraments because you are homosexual.
