#1 I'm looking for some quick, simple candy recipes....05-30-2013, 02:32 PM
Nothing elaborate or fancy, or require exotic ingredients. Just basics like brown or refined sugar, butter, etc. without having to make a trip to town.

One of the simplest is a recipe for chocolate candy. I melt in the microwave chocolate chips (always se the semi sweet or dark), play it by ear how much, depends on how much "filling" I have. I throw in some chopped nuts--take your pick--and if I have Craisins, put them in. I've also used Special K cereal, whatever. The trick is with the dark chocolate, I use a couple DROPS of hot sauce and usually put in a bit of vanilla. Mix it all together, drop in little balls on waxed paper on a cookie pan and refrigerate.
I'm flexible, use whatever I have on hand. Sometimes I have small boxes of dried cut up fruit from Walgreens---like diced apricots, their "tropical" fruit, etc. It always tastes good.
