Zimmerman has already been proved guilty, now it's just a question of punishment.
As the title states, Zimmerman has already been proved guilty by his own admission that he pulled the trigger on the gun that shot Trayvon Martin. The only question that remains is whether he will be punished by the state for his action or whether he can prove by the preponderance of the evidence that he did so with an exculpatory excuse.
An exculpatory excuse is an affirmative defense that is used by defendants who admit their guilt but belief their actions are justified by the circumstances. In this case, Zimmerman is claiming self defense. If he can prove that to the jury's satisfaction, he will be acquitted.
So has Zimmerman proved that he killed Martin in self defense or has he merely asserted a theory that is possible but not proved? From what I've heard, the single witness that allegedly saw the event has now changed his testimony to state that he did not actually see who was beating whom.
So has Zimmerman proved he acted in self defense?

67. The prosecution witnesses have done the work for the defense already
I doubt Zimmerman even gets on the stand and as it is now I doubt he would have to. The Neighbor, John Manaolo said he saw Martin on top of Zimmerman before he heard the gunshot. Another neighbor, Johnathan Good, testified he saw somebody straddling and pummeling Zimmerman with a "ground and pound" mixed martial arts move.
This prosecution is horrible and have proven the case for the defense. If the best they can do is put on 19 year old women with a bad attitude on the stand they never stood a chance.May the FORCE be with you!

It's gonna be fun to watch the DUmbasses twist and turn when Zimmerman walks, thanks to the ineptitude of the prosecution with this case.Solve a man's problem with violence and help him for a day. Teach a man how to solve his problems with violence, help him for a lifetime - Belkar Bitterleaf

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

I think he is not guilty and should walk but those dummies on the jury will fry him to prevent the race riots that will happen. I am not 100% on this guess but I think they might convict him of manslaughter (the judge will give them the option)We're from Philadelphia, We Fight- Chip Kelly

What the prosecution has to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, is that Zimmerman did not shoot in self-defense. I agree with djones that, for political reasons, they were forced to take the case to court and have very little chance of "winning."
However, it is up to the jury, not me.
