Have you ever had your current employer ask you for your resume?

Three weeks ago, we had some reorganizing at work, and now my group is part of a different department and reports to a new manager. Today, this new manager asked us all to provide her with a resume by the end of the week. I've never heard of such a thing.

This makes me nervous for some reason.

Has anyone else had this experience?

    12. I work for a fucking BANK! And we're in the midst of a huge merger. That's why I'm nervous.

That, and the fact that everyone on my team was recently demoted from "Analyst" to "Associate" and went from salaried to hourly.

I'm starting to think they're doing me a favor, by motivating me to update my resume!

Every time I've had a new boss, he or she has asked to see my Officer Record Brief and last three OERs. That's how they figured out who was the best fit for each assignment. The paranoia that this DUmmie is exhibiting is all kinds of fun.

It's a piece of paper with words on it that details your accomplishments and responsibilities throughout your professional career.

There's nothing to worry about if you actually did everything your resume says you did.

Sounds to me like someone might have fluffed up their resume a bit and the new department mamager realizes that this DUmmie can't do the job he says he's trained for.

I've been working at the same place for so long, I'd be suspicious if they suddenly asked for a current resume, as I don't have one. The one I gave them in 1987 was typed on a typewriter, and I don't have any copies left.

I'm not sure if the dummie should be worried. The new boss may be creating a new personnel file, or it might be that they are making decisions about who is going to be promoted.
