President Barack Obama issued a long-awaited response Sunday afternoon to the acquittal of George Zimmerman Saturday evening, reminding Americans to temper "passions," and that "we are a nation of laws and the jury has spoken."

He added that Americans should "honor" the life of Trayvon Martin by committing to "stem the tide of gun violence," and "ask ourselves if we are doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion in our communities."

    Bloomberg: End 'Shoot First' Laws

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, in his latest attempt to demagogue the gun-control issue, used the occasion of George Zimmerman’s acquittal to release a statement on Sunday that asserted his desire to eradicating “Stand Your Ground” laws. Critics of Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which permits citizens to use deadly force if they feel they are in physical danger, have called the laws “Shoot-First” laws. Bloomberg used that terminology in his statement, in which he said:

Sadly, all the facts in this tragic case will probably never be known. But one fact has long been crystal clear: ‘shoot-first’ laws like those in Florida can inspire dangerous vigilantism and protect those who act recklessly with guns. Such laws – drafted by gun lobby extremists in Washington – encourage deadly confrontations by enabling people to shoot first and argue ‘justifiable homicide’ later. Last year, I joined a broad coalition of civic leaders to shine a light on the impact of ‘shoot-first’ laws and work to eliminate them, in Florida and wherever they have been passed. We will continue that work – and the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed child attempting to walk home from the store, will continue to drive our efforts.

Oh Mercy! It is to laugh!

And this from our prez who said sometime back in 2008 during his campaign:

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,”
Not only that, does the fool forget that thanks to his white mother ... he is also a half "Creepy assed Cracka?"

Sorry ... has become my favorite expression these days!

That creepy-assed graham cracka started all this. It's sorta like the arsonist who sets fire to a house, and then shouts, "FIRE........!"

I suppose we'd be better off if Zimmerman had been disarmed by law and Trayvon had been tried as an adult for his murder.

Had that been the case MHC (blush!) we wouldn't have had national coverage of it at all and the two of them would not have become household names.

And what would the MSM, especially the fools at MSNBC, have done without it to try to recapture some of their ratings?

Not to mention the O admin. They must have loved the distraction of it all!!!

*Edit* ... letters "MHC" is a personal acronym, don't bother looking it up! And outta here!

Actually, yes. Ask the animals this and they'll agree.
