“It’s basically a bloodbath,” said Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis. “There’s just absolutely no interest on the part of the mayor of this city to appropriately fund schools or work with us to get funding from Springfield.”

Lewis suggested the lack of pension progress may be an attempt “to sabotage the school system so they can hand it over to their privatizing friends.”

    AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Who da mayor????
May the FORCE be with you!

Not so easy to roll it up like that.

It really isn't incompetece, its more pandering and self serving interest led to this.

Too long has too many Dems in Chicago pandered to the Unions for Union donations to their campaigns, giving them all sorts of sweet-heart deals and perks that now when the bill is coming due, they can't up hold their end of the bargin.

I don't fault the unions or teachers for trying to get the most and best deal they could. I fault the Dems who have run Chicago as they have giving away the candy store so they could keep power.
