I'm sick of the stinkin 0 and his minions eggspecially Bagdad Jay Karny.

President Obama did his best to shift his administration's focus to the economy today during a speech at Illinois' Knox College by blaming the anemic economy on Republicans and "phony scandals."

As predicted, Obama gave America the same speech he's been giving for five years, saying the country needs more infrastructure spending due to crumbling roads and bridges, that we must fight poverty, that CEOs are making too much money while the poor suffer etc. He even went so far as to tout "saving the auto industry" one week after Detroit filed for bankruptcy.

"Today, five years after the start of that Great Recession, America has fought its way back. Together, we saved the auto industry, took on a broken health care system, and invested in new American technologies to reverse our addiction to foreign oil and double wind and solar power," Obama said. "Together, we put in place tough new rules on big banks, and protections that cracked down on the worst practices of mortgage lenders and credit card companies. We changed a tax code too skewed in favor of the wealthiest at the expense of working families, locking in tax cuts for 98% of Americans, and asking those at the top to pay a little more."

While Obama claims America is "back," 50 million people are on food stamps and 23 million people are unemployed. The healthcare system is starting to collapse as doctors leave their practices and gas is on average $3.68 per gallon. It isn't just the rich Obama has asked to "pay a little more." In January, he raised taxes on everyone. And finally, big banks are getting bigger.

    Just Ugh!

White House press secretary Jay Carney, previewing a speech on the economy President Obama is to deliver Wednesday, said that Washington needs to focus on things important to the country and not “phony” or “pretend scandals.”

The focus “shouldn’t be on the skirmishes that cause gridlock; it shouldn’t be on the phony scandals that have consumed so much attention here, all to come to naught,” Mr. Carney said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.

“It should be focused on what we can do to strengthen and grow the middle class, because when the middle class is thriving, when the middle class is growing, our economy is at its best and that’s what we need to do as we move forward in the 21st century,” he said.

Mr. Carney said that the issue with the IRS, which was discovered to have improperly scrutinized mainly conservative groups seeking nonprofit status, is important. But he argued that Republicans have inflated it into something it’s not.

“I think what we’ve seen is inappropriate activity that the president forcefully came out and said he would not tolerate and that he installed somebody at the IRS to take care of,” he said, accusing the GOP of selectively leaking “cherry-picked information” that only tells one side of the story.

“The president will not tolerate poor performance or inappropriate activity at any agency, and when he finds out about it, he acts on it,” Mr. Carney continued. “But he’s focused on the economy. … He’s not focused on pretend scandals that Republicans on Capitol Hill want to turn into partisan skirmishes.”

How many confirmed innocent deaths are required for a scandal to be "real" with this bunch?
When I think of those nightly updates and televised hearings all over Watergate....

If the murder of an ambassador doesn't make it real nothing will.

LMAO. How bad is it going for Barry Hussein right now that he is the one that wants to talk about the economy. That's priceless. Yes, let's talk about it Barry. We've only been waiting five years for you to do so.

...and invested in new American technologies to reverse our addiction to foreign oil and double wind and solar power...
I didn't think the speech could get better, yet it did!

Did he say that with a straight face? Does he mean double the spending on failed wind and solar technologies because that's about all I can see.
    Be Not Afraid.
