Without an official announcement or any publicity, the Obama administration released five members of the Taliban from Gitmo in order to open peace talks in Afghanistan.

Ynetnews.com reports that "a top U.S. official said the prisoners were released under the condition that they will not engage in any violent activity."

The terror activity of those released is not in question. Rather, their release is intended as a gesture to get peace talks rolling between the U.S., Afghanistan, and the Taliban.

Although this release is a stark departure from the standing U.S. policy of "zero tolerance [of] negotiations with terrorists and releasing of prisoners," Obama's State Department has may have found a loophole via their reluctance to define the Taliban as a terror group as of late.

One thing is for certain--the more prisoners Obama can release from Gitmo in a piecemeal fashion the quicker he can justify asking Congress to cut off funding for the prison altogether.

The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

Why did we do all of those deployments and lose all those friends again? We could have just surrendered up front and saved ourselves the trouble.

We elected the enemy, the real war was here at home but most will not acknowledge that.
We have surrendered on all fronts including the home front while everyone plays with their smart phones and marvel at the stock market.
The real tragedy for most is that American Idol is going down the crapper and their is no supposed justice for Blacks.
He not only listens into phone calls but our life is in his hands as is the protection of our country for which he cares little.
    Vacation time once again.
How is obama working out for you?

Did he also ask them to cross their hearts when they said this?

I know, right? At least with Iraq they were in a much better, much more stable position when we signed the agreement to pull out. Afghanistan, we're just bailing on them. 100 casualties a week their forces are suffering right now. Next year... it's going to be a bloodbath.
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.
