Allred involved in mediation to resolve sexual harassment lawsuit. Judge Irving conducted. City of San Diego present.

Tomorrow the city council will be asked to approve a deal. But Allred did not approve the deal or know about what is in the deal. She is concerned that both the City of San Diego and the mayor came to a deal that taxpayers will not like.

Allred assumes that the deal will include the mayor's resignation

Allred does not want any resolution that includes any of the payment of the mayor's legal fees

Some payment to him must be in the deal since the council is being asked to approve it.

Allred believes that there should be a public hearing before the council meets and before any payment is authorized.

The mayor must go, but his leaving the city should not leave a "stain" on San Diego by the city entering into a" callous and unholy agreement" with him.

Allred wants NO taxpayer dollars to go Filner. Not one cent.

Allred brought Mayor's fiance to ask Filner to resign.

Fiance speaks. Healing process for San Diego....

(Allred clearly doesn't want to fight the city's funding of Filner's sexual harassment defense.)

Fiance: Conduct fair and respectful campaigns. Put the city of San Diego first.

Pull together to return San Diego..etc.etc.

    Questions:

What was in the meeting: Allred is not permitted by the rules of mediation to discuss what happened in the mediation.

If there isn't a deal, what do you want to see next: Allred wants to see a resignation without conditions and without a gift of public money.

Why shouldn't we pay for Filner's legal fees if it helps the city "heal"? Allred thinks the people of San Diego have a stake in the outcome, they should have a voice in what or how much should be paid to the mayor. The public should be able to be heard at a public hearing.

Allred is not filing a suit on behalf of the fiance.

The reason fiance is here is that she was one of the first to ask the mayor to resign and wants to emphasize now what she said some time ago at this crucial time. Filner hasn't listened in the past to the numerous voices...he has not yet resigned. In the past, he has had a great deal of respect for finance's opinion, fiance might convince him to resign.

If public funds were used?: We have no settlement of our lawsuit at this time. We do not know the details of the deal. We did not approve any so-called deal between those two defendents.

Do you think it was inappropriate for you not to be included in the deal? I do not think it is appropriate for the city of San diego to give a gift of public funds to the sexual harasser to help him fight the victim....

Are you working on other lawsuits[/s]: As to Peggy Shannon, she has filed a claim. With the city she asked for an EEO investigation. Claim is being investigated.

"What the judge has permitted us to say is that the mediation is ongoing. Our lawsuit is not settled, but the mediation is ongoing."

Will the Mayor's resignation prevent her lawsuit going forward? No. Justice requires....

Is it justice if our city is picking up the legal bills? If the city is paying Filner, the city is siding with the wrongdoer. My client is a San Diegan. For 25 years was a well-respected editor.... she has credibility.

Lots of questions about what occurred in mediation. Allred keeps telling them she can't discuss anything from mediation.

How much are you asking for? We do not ask for a specific amount at our law firm. Damaged continue. At time of trial... At this time there is no settlement and no trial yet so I'm not prepared to say.

Would an apology from the Mayor help? I would be engaging in speculation....

We have always said he should resign....

    Question about the lawsuit
If there is no settlement of our lawsuit, we will continue with our lawsuit.

QUestions about mayor's therapy: Allred has no information about any real therapy, if it was PR, spin, how long he was there, if it's continuing, etc.
