United States Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power was in Ireland on a “personal trip” during an emergency meeting on the alleged chemical weapon attack in Syria, Fox News reports, citing “U.N. sources.”
Reporter James Rosen grilled State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki on Thursday over why the new U.N. ambassador, who has only been on the job for 19 days, wasn’t at the emergency meeting on the Syrian crisis. Psaki would only say that she had a “previously-arranged trip” but was in “constant contact’ with her staff at the United Nations.

It's going around that she was at a Charlie Chaplin film festival:
August 23rd 2013
A former advisor to President Obama is in Kerry.
Harvard Law Professor, Cass Sunstein is speaking in Waterville this afternoon as part of Charlie Chaplin Film Festival.
He is the former Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Obama administration.
Mr Sunstein is married to the US Ambassador to the UN, Irish born Samantha Power; the couple married in Waterville in 2008.
Cass Sunstein will be speaking about government regulation at today’s event.
He says the EU needs to look at how it introduces regulations; he believes it needs to be evidence based, rather than on a hunch or intuition.
