TPP in the USA Is Why We Occupy

The second anniversary of Occupy Wall Street came and went on Tuesday with a fair degree of introspection in the socially conscious corners of social media. What did it mean? What did it accomplish? Is it over or just beginning?

    ...
Does anyone other than DU still care about the OccuTards????

And not too many replies there William, even your BFF CalPeggy didn't respond!!!
May the FORCE be with you!

The excellent author Rebecca Solnit, in a Facebook post on S17 rebutting those who would spurn the whole thing as a giant waste of time, explained like a songbird in full voice what Occupy was, is, will be, and what it accomplished:

    *
Please assess how many Occupy encampments there were - one UCLA estimate was 400 in California alone during the height in late 2011 - and then quantify how in those myriad locations in the USA and other countries (including Germany and New Zealand) many people were served how many free meals, how much free healthcare, how many libraries were set up, how many people found solidarity, a new way of doing things, a sense of possibility...*
So OWS was a glorified soup kitchen that would have been shut down in a heartbeat if the local Boards of Health had done their jobs. Got it.

Before you can do things for people, you must be the kind of man who can get things done. But to get things done, you must love the doing, not the people!

The OWS movement is more a Cautionary Tale about what would happen if the mutant offspring of dope smokin, LSD tripping, drugged out hippies that procreated in the mud and feces of Woodstock were permitted to run our institutions of higher learning, run our largest cities, occupy the highest levels of government and raise their mutant children with their values (that is to say no values whatsoever beyond if it it feels good, do it and that there is no personal responsibility for your actions).

What we have witnessed in OWS is nothing less than liberalism refined, distilled and brought to it's highest pentacle of anarchistic nihilism on display. The drugs, disease, rapings and rampant theft and disrespect of private property were exceeded only by the vacuousness of their arguments.

Of course that's just my opinion, others may differ.

Hate to tell you TPP, but many of them are running colleges and cities.

Just look at Detroit to see what I mean.
