"... funny how you liberals always blame Bush even 5 years later."

I saw this quote in an online argument over the budget.

Question: Should we still be blaming Bush, and (if so) why?

    15. Absolutely. And Raygun.

The US is no longer a beacon to the world, but instruction on how to fuck up a good thing.

PS: I'm intrigued by the excellent typography of your signature image. What does it mean? Please respond via DUmail, I don't keep track of replies I've sent. Thanks!

    4. Fuckin-A... I'm still blaming ronnie raygun for all the shit he pulled...

Presidential actions last long after they leave office and to think anything different would only exist in the mind of stupid teabagger.

    7. Bush had 8 years to fuck things up

Obama should get 8 to clean it up.

    13. Of course I blame Dumbya

In just 8 years, he effectively took a wrecking ball to this entire country, and left it in shambles, leaving Obama to clean up an enormous mess. Frankly, it will take another 10-20 years or so to undo the damage he caused. After all, we're still recovering from Reagan's disastrous policies.

    18. There is plenty of blame to go around.

    I blame;

    Ronald Reagan and his administration
    Bill Clinton and his administration
George Walker Bush and his administration
    Barack Obama and his administration

It took decades of deregulation, free trade deals, and a main stream media propaganda machine to destroy this country.

    The coup is almost complete.

Welcome to the Oligarchy of the United States.

The Supreme Court deserves a mention.

They legislated the rights of we the people away.

The CEOs and global corporations won.

    19. Dubya made up a big plate...

    ... of shit sandwiches.

And now the Repubs are complaining that he's not eating them fast enough.

History did not start in January of 2009.... what came before impacts what's happening now.
Much more idiocy at the link.

Actually, things didn't start going to pot until the Democrats regained control of the House.

One need only look at the National Debt Clock to see that the status-quo is unsustainable.

The entitlements (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Bush's Prescription Drug benefit and now ObamaCare) will soon eclipse the GDP of the entire planet... ten fold over.

And while economists like Krugman will call for more spending and entitlements to solve it, most "real" economists already see the writing on the wall. WE ARE SKREWED!

I see no political will from either party to come to terms and grapple with what is coming. At some point, ya just got to think in terms of Plan-B - planting a garden, storing canned food, arming up and get ready for what is no doubt heading our way.

    Just sayen.

EXACTLY! "What difference does it make now?!" That is probably the single most arrogant reply I've ever heard from a "public servant" But, the MSM found it appropriate and intellectually complete

...I see a true "Then and Now" moment with Hillary holding up the "Now".

The "Then" moment of history took place in November 1945 at Nuremberg.

Back in the 04' election I saw no end of crying about Bush due to the downturn of the .com bubble burst, saying he didn't do anything to fix it, etc etc etc...

So now that Obama has had 5 years, and shits still fuckedup, we need to give him more? But I though a few years was all that was needed when Bush did it. Are Republicans expected to fix things faster, is that it?
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.
