Silver which he quotes at "$12"

    Is $187.50 per month.

    Using his own numbers.

So out of a monthly income of $1000, on the silver plan, $187.50 of it must go for obamacare.
Calculator I used showed $240 a year after the premium. So that shows $20 a month for Silver coverage.

Does the actual ACA site have a calculator?

Edit: The website directs you to the calculator I used.

I did plug my info in, as if I didn't have insurance and it's telling me my premium would be $10,744 a year, with $9,019 in subsidies.

In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

...until 2015, then...then of course there's the deductible...

I just don't see how these subsidies are going to work, and not break us. 400% above the poverty level and below, that means the vast majority of the country is going to be paying 1/10th of the bill, and the gov picks up the rest? How is this not going to break the bank?

Holy-crap, I used the ACA calculator you did. My numbers from them are through the roof.

    Bronze is $159.25 per month!

    Silver is $227.99 per month!

Hell, I'm way further ahead just paying the penalty.

Um, I'm 300% above their mark, and it says I get nothing.

From what I've heard, your supposed to qualify for a subsidy if your under the 400% mark. I just plugged some numbers it, at 355% the subsidy is real small, only like $1,500, instead of $9,000.

If I were making $92,000 a year, instead of $42,000 I'd be paying around $800 a month for my family, instead of $150.

More then doubles the percentage of my pay that I have to pay for insurance. Tell me how this isn't a progressive tax?

Might have to do with age. I'm under 40. My guess is your over 50. So at my level I may not qualify.

All I have to say is I better not lose my employer insurance. Else I'm screwed. Its about $100 a month. And better then their Platinum.
