In a way I hope the Cards lose game #5.........I'd like to see the Cards win the NLCS in front of a home crowd like they did the season and the NLDS.

    But that's just me.

As usual, TBS (Turner Bullshit System) gets the scheduled game time screwed up. But what can you expect with Olbershit in the broadcast booth, and the Turner zombies at the controls?

Nevertheless, we and the St. Louis fans have a chance to watch the Cards win the NLCS. Stay tuned, and trust but VERIFY, the schedule timing. I always check the DISH time on the day of the game before setting the timer.

It's off to the World Series for the Cardinals.

The only thing that would have been better would be a Beltran walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth in game seven!!!!!!!!!!!

SR is such a kidder. I was so excited when they won. Don't know what was going on, will try to find out from family & friends in St Louis, but the ace TBS announcers made some crack about how the LA team wasn't popular in St Louis, insinuating that they were acting pretty snooty. No wonder the crowd was on them from the beginning of the game. Don't know what happened, but it must have gotten the Cards riled.

9-0 is such a beautiful number---if it's your team doing the winning. I guess having such an expensive payroll doesn't help all that much. The Cards are Midwest thrifty.

The Cards have the #11 payroll. That's not so thrifty.

...but they've also got a pot full of rookies, including 22yo Wacha (NLCS MVP!), and one of the best farm systems in MLB. The Yankees of yesteryear have been reincarnated as today's Cardinals.

Hmmm, now will it be the Sox or Tigers?

    Much thriftier than being 1-10.

The expense of the payroll seems to extend to the cost of the spring training games. Surprise, surprise, it was much more expensve to go to the Yankees spring training game in Tampa (about the only time the Cards played on the west coast of FloridaP than it was at the Orioles game here in Sarasota.

As Marv said, the Cards have a strong farm team and are developing their own future stars. Much less expensive in the long run than going out and paying astronomical sum for some guy who turns out to be juicing.
