HONG KONG, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted two km south of Nueva Vida Sur, Philippines at 00:12:37 GMT on Tuesday (08:12:37 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.


The epicenter, with a depth of 56.82 km, was initially determined to be at 9.7652 degrees north latitude and 124.0224 degrees east longitude.


The USGS also reported a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Bohol, the Philippines, Tuesday morning.
