Preparing for looming financial crisis in U.S.?
Chase Bank has moved to limit cash withdrawals while banning business customers from sending international wire transfers from November 17 onwards, prompting speculation that the bank is preparing for a looming financial crisis in the United States by imposing capital controls.

Chase has never liked it when their customers withdraw cash.... or call them, or catch errors on their account. iN fact, Chase would prefer that you simply deposit your cash and never contact them.

We have our checin at Chase. At first I was worried til I followed your link. The devil is always in the details. The limit for cash withdrawals is $50k per statement cycle. We're safe, those limits won't apply to us, sigh.

True or not, Chase sucks. I left them behind over 10 years ago for my local credit union and have never looked back. They nickel and dimed me at every turn. I love my CU. I don't even need ID when I go into my branch now. They have it on file and & know me by name before I even ask for something.

Sounds like my bank in St Louis, was called National City, then bought out by PNC, a Pittsburgh based bank. It's a nice feeling when they know your name and help like you're talking about.

The Chase bank here is close to our home and the people are friendly. They don't know the name, but do recognize us and have better hours, open every day til 6pm and til 3 on Saturday.

I miss local banks. When I was in college, I banked with Old Kent Bank. I regretfully closed my account when I moved to metro Detroit. Old Kent got taken over by Fifth Third Bank, and they screwed my Grandpa out of a lot of money during the takeover. Additionally, Fifth Third had a lot of ties to former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, so I am glad my money was not in Old Kent at the time of the takeover.

I've been using a credit union for the last 23 years or so, with no problems.

We have a several local banks here. Andre Agassi sits on one of the bank's board of directors. I use a couple of the the local banks. One is NV based and the other is TX based. Both have just a few branches. There is also a popular NV State Bank and many credit unions.

We also have the large banks, most of our seasonal residents all use those banks due to the convenience since they either travel full time or have more then one home. They need more availability of branch locations. I don't.
