Interesting that a bill to help the uninsured get insurance creates so many....uninsured.

Calif. Insurance Commissioner: More Than 1M Californians Having Insurance Cancelled Due To ACA

...More than 1 million cancellation notices have been sent to Californians as the Affordable Care Act begins allowing individuals to buy insurance through exchanges, Jones said. The federal law requires policies to offer minimum levels of coverage, forcing companies to terminate many existing plans. But Jones said that under the law, insurers have another year to do so.

...The state health care exchange, Covered California, has been accepting customers since Oct. 1 but has yet to say how many people have signed up for new policies. It is expected to announce enrollment figures Thursday.

Jones said even though both insurance companies have extended their existing coverage, policyholders who are eligible for federal premium subsidies through Covered California will likely want to choose new policies by Dec. 15 so they can begin receiving the subsidies starting Jan. 1.

I think I heard overall there has been 4 million cancellations nationwide.

Combine that with 40,000 people who've signed up for Obamacare so far... HUGE net deficit.
In most sports, cold-cocking an opposing player repeatedly in the face with a series of gigantic Slovakian uppercuts would get you a multi-game suspension without pay.

In hockey, it means you have to sit in the penalty box for five minutes.

Fewer than 50,000 sign up on Obamacare website, media report suggests

(CNN) -- It appears fewer than 50,000 people successfully signed up for health coverage through the federally run Obamacare website during the first five weeks of open enrollment, falling well short of expectations for the period, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

The federal online application process has been marked so far by serious technical problems with HealthCare.gov since its October 1 launch.

The website was established as the main source of public information and the primary way for consumers to purchase private insurance online under the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama's signature domestic policy achievement.

The Obama administration is scrambling to fix the problems and says website use is improving daily. It hopes to have the site running smoothly for most people by the end of the month.

Some states are running their own enrollment programs for Obamacare and are faring better.

The online enrollment debacle combined with some people losing their health insurance because of Obamacare have energized Republicans, who have hammered the President politically and see the rocky start as a potent campaign issue heading into next year's congressional midterm elections....

So, 4M people have lost coverage, and 40K have signed up. That's 100 people losing their coverage for every person signing up. Fortunately, there are only 300M Americans, so when Obamacare has signed up the required 7M, that ratio will have fallen to 42.8 people losing coverage for every sign-up, unless they expand Obamacare to Canada, Mexico and Europe, in which case they can keep the 100:1 ratio.

Actually, the ratio is now 4.8 million to 100K (if you count state exchanges; the Obamacare website only signed up 27K)

5 million to 100,000 (roughly) = about 2% of those who lost their insurance signed up in all the exchanges combined. Abysmal.
