'Filibuster' and democrat in the same sentence is quite common and expected.
'Filibuster' and republican - not so much. Unless your a tea party fav. And we already know that the GOP rejects ANYTHING the tea partys supports, out of hand. Just look at the notion of repealing 0biecare for an example. We CANT repeal or defund THAT, because that would mean that Ted Cruz and co. WERE RIGHT. We cant have that now...

Well, Obama is now working behind the scenes:
Obama to host insurers at White House
http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-...rticle/2539207
President Obama will meet with insurance executives at the White House on Friday, an attempt to assuage industry concerns over an administration plan that would allow insurers to renew canceled health plans that don't meet Obamacare standards.
A White House official said Obama and the insurers would "discuss ways to work together to help people enroll through the marketplace and efforts to minimize disruption for consumers as they transition to new coverage.”
On Thursday, the president unveiled a fix that would let insurance companies reinstate through 2014 plans canceled for millions of Americans under the new health law. The providers, however, are not required to honor the administration's request.
Insurance leaders roundly criticized the administration's fix, saying it would be difficult to implement and could cause premiums to rise as companies work to implement the most sweeping overhaul to the health care system since Medicare.
The White House put forward its plan as Democrats pursue a legislative solution for the millions of canceled policies. Red-state Democrats on Thursday expressed doubts that the Obama framework did enough to address the problem.

Expect the Landrieau bill to go nowhere. Even if a variation of it passes the senate, the house will not budge on this. The Democrats have to delay the implementation of Obamacare or they are toast in 2014, and they are desperate enough to pass the Upton bill. If Republicans stand firm on this (and I think that they will), then the final bill will look far more like the Upton bill than the Landrieau bill. And, of course, Landrieau voted for Obamacare before she voted against it. There's lots of video of her defending that vote, and her opponent would be an idiot if he/she didn't run it in all of the attack ads.

It's only going to get worse. Obama already delayed the effect of the bill on businesses for a year. When the full Obamacare debacle kicks in, there will be many people who counted on employer-sponsored insurance who will be cancelled and forced onto the junk insurance Obamacare offers.

Obama only cares for himself. The dictator doesn't want a Republican Senate to also oppose him. He's throwing everyone else under the bus for 2016. Can you imagine the uproar in 2015 and beyond when Obamacare really kicks in?
Besides, I doubt if Dirty Harry will allow anything to go through in the Senate. The nasty old curmudgeon will block any and all bills. He must be a very unhappy man with that permanent sneer on his face.

Why do we have a senate? With this current corrupted system the majority party in the senate could elect a man and then just go home leaving him to decide, somehow I do not think this system that has evolved was the intention of the founding fathers.
