He's 64 years old. He's retiring and trying to make a political statement in the process.

They will no longer be laughing soon but it won't be an "I told you so" win because we all will lose.
The difference between pigs and people is that when they tell you you're cured it isn't a good thing.

Many doctors work past 64, Nova, especially if they're good ones and especially if they're in areas where they are needed. Once again, making assumptions as if they are truth.

I am not making an assumption at all. He is indeed 64 years old. He is indeed retiring according to his ad. He is also making a political statement. All true.

Wasn't going to post this, as am trying not to get myself all upset, but ...

I have a feeling this is about to get worse, not just for us, but for millions of other Americans.

That notice in the paper, is close to the wording that we received last week in the mail from Mr. ABC's GP. (not mine so far, we have different GP's.)

This doc, has quit and now Mr. ABC is on his own as a Medicare patient, and must find another to take him on as a new patient. Not so easy to do living in a tiny town in North Georgia on the border of NC. Not enough doctors, let alone ones able/willing to take on new patients.

The problem is ... this doctor was the one who was monitoring him for leukemia due to his his erratic WBC and sending the results to a cancer blood specialist in yet another tiny town up here.

As far as we know, meaning we have heard nothing yet, from his Cancer Laser surgeon up in Knoxville Tn. that is treating his esophagus ...

We are crossing our fingers that he will still be able to go there for his treatments.

Who knows what will happen and where we will go from here?

Just cross your fingers that this doesn't happen to you, and that you have nothing serious to deal with in your own health care in future.

My physician in the 1980's died in a car accident in 1986. Shit happens.
I had to switch doctors when Megabank changed plans from United to Humana. Life goes on.
Soon I will have to switch doctors because I am moving. Big deal.

Yes, I have a chronic borderline acute condition. The doctors I see are competent, not miraculous.
