Silly problem, maybe, but it's bothering my co-worker. She is a nice lady in her mid 50s and has noticed that her eyelashes are thinning out. The right eye (her right, not mine) actually has little gaps, where the eyelash isn't growing out. She doesn't want to do the false eyelashes thing. Are there any homeopathic or natural remedies? I know there's some prescription thing for it, but what about the side effects? I told her I'd let her know tomorrow if you all had any ideas.

My hair in general is thinning out, but not really my lashes. I don't think there is much that can be done, other than either the prescription you mentioned or false eyelashes-I've never worn them, either, and don't even know how to put them on.

Queen Elizabeth I allegedly had all of her eyebrows and lashes fall out, but even if she was butt-ugly, all the men in England had to pretend she was the most beautiful woman in the world, or lose their heads.

You can't stop it, I hate it.

There is a prescription med for that.

My coworker announced the minute she walked through the door that she had just gotten botox. She wasn't puffy and didn't look any differently than yesterday. She said it takes a week or so before the wrinkles above her nose fade a way. She also got her forehead done.

Seriously, if I ever get something done, I would not announce it to anyone. It would be my secret.

Isn't that super expensive? (My coworker is in the midst of a divorce and she's worried about money. Personally, I think that's why her eyelashes are falling out, but that's just conjecture.)

Low cost and it has good reviews. It would be worth her trying.

I just happened by this old post. Latisse is glaucoma medication that they found patients who used it lashes grew ridiculously long. At first doctors would prescribe it for off label use then the company that made it relabeled it Latisse and sold it for lashes. I am on a cosmetic message board and someone found an online prescription company from India that sold it in the glaucoma form (bottle dropper) form for $10. I started ordering it, you could order as many bottles as you wanted for $25 shipping. Then the company who made it (allergan) sued the online company for selling it so cheaply. Now they sell a generic form called Cosopt for $11 a bottle with an eyeliner brush (it is in the eye dropper bottle). You put it on the lash line like eyeliner, not in your eye as you would for glaucoma. I have used both brands for about three years. It works. I get it from alldaychemist.com.

I have never had a problem with it. I stopped using it for awhile but recently started using it again, I can tell my lashes are regrowing again. They have gotten so long that they would rub against my sunglasses and I would have to trim them.

Here they are with quite a few coats of mascara

Here is a picture of me yesterday with one coat of mascara
