Is it my imagination, or do we have a lot less trollery and nastiness here on DU since the
about the 5 hides etc took place?
I'm actually enjoying it here again now.
New rules: message board authoritarianism; control by the loudest few out for revenge on those who dare think differently.
less nastiness=we all think and believe alike, we're the majority and anyone who doesn't agree is ignorant, stupid, and mean.
In other words it's those who are NASTIEST AND THE MOST INTOLERANT that remain on DU. Everyone else leaves or shuts up.

4. Yes, it's changed very much for the better
I was a little leery at first because I knew some of the posters I liked to read were a little overly passionate and got posts hidden quite a bit.
They're still here, so I imagine the rules allow for a time out along with being shown the door by the front third of Skinner's right shoe.

What you have DUmmies is your fellow DUmmies too scared
to post what they really think since they don't want to be shown
the door or lose DU privileges. And that makes for a nice widdle echo chamber where
people like ProSense and kpete can have a field day!!!
But you all just keep thinking that you're intellectual giants,
it's quite a hoot...May the FORCE be with you!

Seems so many are misusing words like that.
Which makes it look stupid to people like me who remember the internet way back in the usenet and BBS days and the word troll back then meant someone who posted inflammatory comments.
To most people nowadays, it means a post they don't agree with. Seriously,if people keep misusing the word, then the word should be banned from the english language;.
