Hmm .. Northern Sudan ... just a few miles from MECCA!

It's supposed to be 15 feet across and full of different metals.

It looks like there was no damage. It's kind of scary to think they noticed it just 6 hours before impact, though. :eek:

Sorry, but if an asteroid is coming down that close to Mecca, it's a shame it didn't go just a bit further.
Afterall, that's what they worship when they go on a haj. They walk around a meteor.
It seems like a waste of a perfectly good asteroid - to miss mecca like that. :p

Wishing the destruction of a religion’s capital is the kind of thinking that got us embroiled in the Middle East and relearning (or not) the lessons the French and English were exposed to a century ago. Very small thinking.
