I know several couples with different political views that share a lifetime of marriage. The family gatherings during the holidays are always interesting after the wine is flowing and the political discussions start, but the rest of the year they usually seem to get along great.

Life would be boring if we all thought exactly the same and had the exact tastes.

Was wondering what to have for lunch.

I'm just going to say this:

If I was given the choice between a liberal like Alan Alda or a conservative like Mel Gibson, I'm taking Mel, crazy and all. I'm a social worker, I can handle the crazy. But that's the older generation of celebrities with political affiliations.

But George Clooney throws that equation away in my generation. Also, the type of men I'm usually attracted to in my part of the world are generally not conservatives.

I'm open minded to dating conservatives, but Mel Gibson is too cuckoo for cocoa puffs. (Yes, even for me. lol). I have to at least be able to understand their type of crazy a little bit. Not the case here.

Conservative women also prefer conservative men.

Liberal men are too ghey for me.
